Sweet and sour quince with rice

Ingredients

Asian food is especially good for those who are fasting or want to add something new to their menu. Sweet and sour combination make ordinary dishes new and extraordinary. For example, this quince with honey and lemon sauce complemented by sesame seeds goes well with simple white rice.

Prepare all the ingredients. Wash 2 quinces.

Rinse the rice, add 200 ml water, 1 tbsp oil and salt. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat till minimum and boil for 25 mins.

Remove the core from the quince and dice the latter (2,5 cm large). Peel and thinly slice the garlic.

In a sauté pan combine the quince and 50 ml water and cook covered over high heat for 5-7 mins. Add the soy sauce, honey, sesame and 1 tbsp oil and fry till golden and the liquid is completely evaporated, about 2 mins. Stir constantly.

Add the garlic and lemon juice, mix and remove from heat.

Sweet and sour quince is done! Serve with rice and decorate with a lemon wedge (optional).
