Prepare the ingredients. Wash and pat dry the pears, thyme and ginger (about 3 cm).

Peel the pears, cut in four and remove the core. Cut the flesh into small cubes and put into a heavy-bottomed pan. As this recipe uses little sugar, choose sweet pears. If the pears are sour, increase the amount of sugar.

Peel and finely grate the ginger. Add the sugar, grated ginger, lemon juice, cinnamon and thyme sprigs to the pears. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to medium and cook for 35 mins.

Remove the thyme and puree the pears with a blender till homogeneous. Return to the heat and cook for 5 mins.

Pour the hot jam into sterilized jars and close them tightly. Spicy pear jam is done! Store in the fridge up to 2 weeks. Enjoy your meal!
