Steps

Step 1

Prepare the ingredients.

Step 2

Place the butter and chopped chocolate into a bowl, let it melt in a microwave for 10-20 seconds and mix the two until well combined. If you don’t have a microwave, you can do the same on a cooker, stirring constantly until the chocolate melts. Be careful not to overheat the chocolate, because then the mass will not have the needed consistency.

Step 3

Sift the flour and icing sugar, mix well. In this recipe we are using dark chocolate, so if you are using milk chocolate instead, reduce the amount of icing sugar.

Step 4

Pour all the chocolate into the flour mix and stir until homogenous.

Step 5

Form a “sausage” out of the dough and wrap in parchment paper.

Step 6

You may make a circle, rectangular or triangular “sausage”, it depends on what form you’d prefer your cookies to be. Put away into the fridge for about 5-10 minutes so that the dough is just about beginning to thicken, but not yet too hard.

Step 7

Preheat the oven to 170 degrees. Sprinkle the baking tray with a couple drops of water and line with parchment paper. Roll out the dough, let it sit for a couple minutes and cut it into cookies of 0.5-1 cm thick.

Step 8

Place them a bit apart from each other on the paper and put away into the oven for a couple of minutes. This way the cookies will be softer and it won’t crack when you insert M&M’s into it. Take it out, lightly press the M&M’s sweets into top of the cookies and be quick! So that children don’t have the time to eat all the sweets! ☺

Step 9

Put back in the centre of the oven for 7-10 minutes, then let cool.

Tips:

Not all kids like dark chocolate, so you may use the milk one instead.
