Oven-baked teriyaki ribs

Ingredients

If you want to make something brutal, satisfying and delicious, here’s the right recipe. Pork ribs can be cooked in different ways, e.g. on a barbeque, on a pan or in the oven.  We suggest frying them a little and then baking in an oven bag. Due to quick frying they will become appetizing and get a nice crust and due to slow baking in the oven bag the meat will be very delicate and fall apart. Also, we use two sauces that soften the meat, so you don’t have to marinate it before cooking.

Prepare the ingredients. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Cut off the outer fat, if there’s any.

Cut the ribs into separate ribs. Heat the pan with the oil and fry the ribs over medium-high heat on both sides till golden, 2 mins per side. Fry in small portions, so that there is some space between them. In this case they will fry, not stew. Put the oven bag in a suitable baking form. Put the ribs into the oven bag.

Add the ground chili and black pepper, pour the soy sauce. Twist the oven bag holding one edge to let the sauce and spices cover the ribs.

Put the oven bag back into the form and tie the second edge not too tight. Pierce the oven bag near the knots 4-5 times with a toothpick to prevent the sauce from pouring off. Bake in the middle of the oven for 2 hours.

Remove the ribs from the oven, untie the oven bag. Pour the teriyaki sauce, mix. Tie the oven bag again and bake for 30 mins.

Open the oven bag carefully and cook for 20 mins to give the nice crust. Baste or stir the ribs several times during this time.

To make the sweet-and-sour flavor stronger, brush the ribs with a thin layer of teriyaki just before serving.
