French omelette

French omelette
Cuisine:

    Ingredients

Today we’d like to offer you to bake this French classical omelette. It doesn’t have any unnecessary ingredients like flour or milk etc., only the essentials – eggs, butter and salt. The omelette doesn’t have to be fluffy, but if cooked right it will turn out perfectly tender and tasty. You may add some finely chopped fresh herbs or vegetables.

    Step 1

Put the butter into a heavy frying pan. You will need a medium-sized ring stove on the smallest fire possible.

    Step 2

We usually use a 26 cm diameter pan and two eggs for this recipe, but it’s easier to work with three eggs, so that’s what we’ll do this time. Break three eggs and place them into a bowl, add some salt and pepper to taste and beat them lightly with a fork so that they lose their structure. Melt the butter, spread it on all the surface of the pan and pour the butter into the bowl with the eggs. The thin layer of butter left on the pan will be enough to cook the omelette.

    Step 3

Beat again with a fork and pour it out onto the pan. Bring the fire down to minimum and cook for 2 minutes.

    Step 4

As soon as the bottom side in the middle is ready, and the top is still wobbly, you may turn off the gas and take the omelette off the pan. To do that, you may shake the pan fast moving it from and towards you (this way it will fold in double) or if you’re not yet sure of yourself, you may just take it off using a spoon. Start from one side and roll it to the other.

    Step 5

Get a plate and place the omelette on it. Cut diagonally in 5-6 parts.

    Step 6

You may add some extra ingredients by chopping some fresh herbs finely on top, some vegetables (tomatoes, radish, fried mushrooms) or grate some cheese and sprinkle some on top.
