Prepare the ingredients. Preheat the oven to 180° C. Squeeze 120 ml juice from the oranges.

In a deep bowl whisk olive oil with sugar.

Dilute the baking soda in the juice. The mixture will bubble, therefore use a tall glass.

Add the juice to the bowl, whisk slightly.

Grease the 18 cm baking tin with a bit of oil, pour the batter. Bake 1 hour.

Use a toothpick to check if the cake is done. It should be dry. Remove the cake from the oven, cool down, then take out of the tin. If you are using a figure tin like in this recipe, you may need to cut off the dome to make it even.
