Ingredients

Ripe honey-sweet mulberries may be both a nice treat and the base for an original sweet and sour sauce for meat! This is exactly what you can coon using our recipe. It will be particularly useful when there are lots of berries but you’re already fed up with them.

Prepare the ingredients.

Wash the berries in the running water and drain in the colander.

Peel and finely chop the onion. Melt the butter in a hot pan, add the onion and fry till a little translucent.

Add the berries mix and cook for 5 mins. Add the red dry wine, rosemary leaves and season to taste. Peel the garlic and put through the press, add to the berries and mix. Cook for 5 mins. Finally, squeeze the juice out of one lemon, add to the sauce and mix. Remove from heat.

Puree the sauce with the blender till homogeneous.

Lemon and mulberry sauce is done! Store in the fridge in an airtight container up to 2 days. Alternatively, freeze it.
