Glazed Brussels sprouts

Glazed Brussels sprouts

Ingredients

  • FOR THE GLAZE

We suppose you seldom cook Brussels sprouts. These nice small and toy-like heads of cabbage in spicy orange glaze will revive your menu. This easy-to-make and healthy dish may make a perfect side for fish or a steak and can be combined with rice and bulgur in a complex side.

Step 2

Bring the water to a boil, add the salt, add the sprouts and boil for 3 mins. Drain in a colander. Preheat the oven to 160°C.

Step 3

Make the glaze: Zest the orange finely (just the thin orange layer), squeeze the juice. To make the process easier and get more juice, heat the orange in the microwave for 10 secs. Peel and finely grate the ginger.

Step 4

In a bowl combine the juice and zest of the orange, ginger, salt, pepper and honey. Finally, add the olive oil. Mix thoroughly.

Step 5

Add the warm sprouts to the glaze and mix thoroughly, so that the glaze covers them well.

Step 6

Transfer the sprouts to a baking form. Bake at 160°C for 10 mins, increase the heat to 190°C and bake for 10 mins, so that the glaze thickens. Serve as a separate dish or as a side for fish or meat. Glazed Brussels sprouts are done. Enjoy your meal!

Tips:

The easiest way to peel the ginger is to use a teaspoon.
