Ingredients

Kissel is a traditional Russian drink. It can be made from any berries or fruits, and even milk. It is a good source of energy and vitamins in winter, both for children and grown-ups. And if you add a cinnamon stick and one or two star anises, you will get a wonderful festive-like taste. We suggest cooking blackcurrant kissel in Polaris PMC 0516ADG multicooker.

Prepare the ingredients.

Rinse the currants thoroughly and remove the stems. If you are using frozen berries, no special preparation is needed. Put the berries and sugar into the multicooker and pour 2 l water. Choose the “Steaming” mode and set the time as 30 mins. After the beep tone put the compote through a sieve or double layer of gauze. Return the liquid to the multicooker.

Set the “Steaming” mode again, now for 10 mins, so that the compote begins to boil. Meanwhile dissolve 3 tbsp starch in a glass of water.

Constantly stirring, very slowly add the dissolved starch into the compote. Bring to a boil, turn off the multicooker.
