    Potato pancakes are very popular in many countries. They have many names but in this country we know them as draniki or deruny. There are also many ways to make them. Let’s try one of the most popular and simplest ways together!

She has received high education in the field of physics; except diploma of the engineer-physicist, the educational institution instilled a love for self-study and travel. The physics of metals and semiconductors is very far from photography, but it was in the institute, visiting the mountaineering and climbing section, that Galina wanted to preserve these moments not only in her memory. In the beginning, these were mountain landscapes, people, architecture on trips ... After a while, the love for the learning process, cooking and photography merged into one! Now Galina couldn't live without food photos and takes them every day!

    Prepare the ingredients.

    Chop the onions very finely. Wash, peel and roughly grate the potatoes.

    We recommend first putting the onions into the bowl, and then the potatoes, so that they won’t darken. Mix. Discard the liquid from the potatoes, if there’s too much of it. Add the eggs, salt and spices. Mix well.

    Heat a pan with some oil over medium heat and spoon the potato mixture onto the pan, leaving some space between them. Cook for about 3 mins per side. Put the cooked draniki onto a paper towel to remove the excess oil.

    Draniki are done! Serve them hot with some sour cream and chopped dill. Enjoy your meal!
